    Warm-up · 8 min
Balls out, play as you arriveAABB

    Setup

    1. Field and goals set up before players arrive.
    2. Balls out. Whoever is here plays right away, teams even as kids arrive.
    3. No coaching, no lines: the game starts the practice.

    Coaching points

    • Greet every player by name as they join.
    • Watch who is confident with the ball today.

Dribble to the line, turn, explode backAA

    Setup

    1. Pairs across the grid, each with a ball.
    2. Dribble to the far line, turn with any turn, explode back 3 touches.
    3. Rest while your partner goes.
    4. 4 turns of the grid, name your turn out loud.

    Coaching points

    • Reach the line under control, not just fast.
    • After the turn, first touch goes forward.

    Easier or harder

Easier: shorter grid. Harder: partner jogs beside as a shadow defender.

    4. Play for 2 minutes. Whoever kept their ball longest wins.

    Coaching points

    • Put your body between your ball and the attacker to shield it.
    • Turn fast when a player lunges at your ball.

    Easier or harder

    4. Play until one player remains: the King of the Ring.

    Coaching points

    • Shield the ball with your body, arm out, ball on the far foot.
    • Stay away from the crowd of hunters.

    Easier or harder

Easier: start with 2 hunters only. Harder: play the final 4 in a smaller ring.

    4. Roll new balls in when one goes out. Keep the game flowing.

    Coaching points

    • Praise the theme when you see it, once, briefly.
    • Let the game teach: no stoppages for coaching lectures.

    Easier or harder

Easier: bigger goals, no goalkeepers. Harder: winners stay on, or a two-touch rule for a round.
